Making Noninvasive Measurements Simple
Physicist Phil Isaacson founded Nonin Medical (our name is inspired by the word “noninvasive”) in 1986 with three engineers. Their goal: to make noninvasive healthcare measurements more affordable and accessible. They did this by developing revolutionary pulse oximetry technology that offered simple, robust performance in an easy-to use, portable device for a much lower cost.
A History of Medical Technology Innovations
Today Nonin Medical is a global leader in designing and producing noninvasive medical monitoring solutions that improve the quality of people’s lives.
We do this by:
- Creating reliable measurements that read true in all patients, even the sickest patients
- Making smaller, more portable, lower power and durable devices
- Enabling easy data capture, management, reporting and transfer
- Simplifying device interoperability and integration
Mr. Isaacson, who invented the finger pulse oximeter at Nonin, is the company’s chief executive officer and chief technology officer.
Performance in the most challenging patients and conditions
Nonin Medical’s product offerings include pulse oximeters, regional oximeters, capnographs, sensors, software and accessories. Nonin engineers NIRS-technology differently, and our deep experience in signal processing and sensor design provides proven clinical performance in the most challenging patients and conditions.
The result? Products that are:
- Accurate and reliable
- Durable and long lasting
- Simple to use
- Easy to integrate
- Cost effective to own and operate
